Oaktree Recording | Düsseldorf
[Song Workshops in Vizinada (Croatia) 2022  and Düsseldorf August 2023]

From concept to creation: In 2022 during  an Art Circle Residence event in Vizinada the Slovene song writer and singer Matjaz Ferenc presented one of his songs  to an  international audience.

Further to that Matjaz developed songs based on lyrics by Anna Prinz from Germany during a workshop in Vizinada in June 2023. The result inspired musicians from Düsseldorf who decided to take part in  the recording at the „Oaktree Studio“ of Andreas Böhmer in Düsseldorf in August 2023.

Collaboration:
Matjaz Ferenc received a travel grant from ArtCircleResidence- Europe Connect e.V. to develop the songs further during a two day residency workshop. Session at „Oaktree studio“, a non profit music studio run by Andreas Böhmer.  was kindly given free of charge.

In addition to Andreas Böhmer (drums and recordings) his son Michael Kordon contributed as a drummer and  his daughter Natalie Kordon at the accordeon while his wife Irina Kordon photographed the event.

The workshop was also joined by singer Andrea Ruth-Icking and guitarist Andreas Lorenz, as well as Anna Prinz as backing vocalist.

Please find more information on the artists here.

The result The outcome of the collaboration has resulted in demo versions of both songs: The “Robot” Song and the “Turn around” song, which you can find below.

Initially songs have been recorder and now require further development to produce final arrangements and production, accompanying video and promotion. ACR is looking for further collaboration. Please write  to “artcircleresidence@gmail.com” if you would like to take part in further developments of these demos. We would love to see these arrangements become hits!
